Exceptional brooch by the Dutch gold and silversmith Jan Noyons Utrecht (6 July 1918 – Aldaar, 8 December 1982). The brooch is a good example of modern design from the 1970s. Unusual for this period is the use of gold (which was considered elitist at the time). In addition to 18 carat gold, the brooch is made of sterling silver and set with good quality gemstones, a 0.30 ct. European cut diamonds, four round Emeralds and four round Rubies. Estimated total Emerald weight 0.16 ct. estimated total Ruby weight 0.20 ct.
