18K Antique gold Sautoir long chain necklace

Dating a Sautoir is difficult because the originate from the 18th century. We date this sautoir mid to second half of the 19th century. Its intricate links are made from rectangular and  round gold thread that have been individually soldered. Making this necklace must have been a time consuming process. The result is a spectacular long chain that would be nearly impossible to match in today’s market. 

Made of 18 carat yellow gold
