1.10 ct old European cut diamond engagement ring

Vintage Art Deco diamond engagement ring. The platinum ring is set with a 1,1 ct old European cut (6,9 x 6,9 x 3.7 mm) diamond. The diamond has a I-J colour and a Si clarity. Old European cut diamonds where popular between 1890-1930 they where hand cut by master craftsman with the emphasis on fire over continuous sparkle. Even though they have exactly the same number of facets their main facets are bigger and their table is smaller, because of that their sparkle is less continuous but more dynamic. The diamond mount is decorated with elaborate scrollwork on a simple split shank. Current ring size 18,5 mm
