In the 1920’s John Harwood set himself the task to create a wristwatch that would be better protected to dust and moisture. For this he developed a different mechanism for winding and hand setting (setting by turning the bezel) . In doing so he became the inventor of the self-winding wristwatch mechanism. For this invention he was rewarded with a patent in 1924. Fortis and Harwood organised the production of these watches.
In 2012 Fortis reintroduced this inventive watch and started producing them in limited editions.
The watch now on offer is an automatic stainless steel version with a modified ETA cal. 2892-2 movement.
The watch has been fully serviced and is sold with one year warranty.
